Oren Dashti, classically trained since the age of six, developed a passion for
jazz over the years and have played and performed in a variety of jazz
ensembles. Oren studied classical and jazz piano performance and
composition in Israel, and since then has performed in various cities around
Asia such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and
around Taiwan. He has performed with local and international jazz and pop
artists, including Grammy nominee flutist Ron Korb, singer/songwriter
Joanna Wang, Golden Melody Award winning a-cappella group Okai Singers,
and Chinese pop artists Ling Long and Guang Zhi to name a few. His main
musical influences include pianists Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett,
Chick Corea, Uri Caine, Brad Mehldau (Jazz), Arthur Rubinstein, Vladimir
Ashkenazy, Daniel Barenboim and Leonard Bernstein (Classical). In more
recent years, apart from performing in conventional jazz set-ups, Oren has
also experimented with more diverse projects and combinations such as a
piano/erhu duo, video art musical live performance, electronic bands and
others. He regularly composes for multimedia projects, TV, film, and games.
He is the music director for several jazz venues in Taipei and performs at art
centers and jazz festivals around Asia. Oren shares his time between
composing, arranging music and performing in various jazz and classical
groups.

Chuck Payne–Drums

Chuck Payne is a professional musician, originally from Houston, Texas in
the United States, currently living in Taipei, Taiwan.
Drum set is his main instrument, but he also plays hand drums and other
various instruments from around the world. Chuck attended the University
of North Texas as a Jazz Studies major and then continued studying music
and audio engineering at Houston Community College.
After moving to Taiwan in 2012, Chuck began playing concerts, touring and
recording drums tracks for several notable players in the Asian music
scene, including including pop stars Joanna Wang, Jolin Tsai, David Tao,
Kay Huang and music producers Bing Wang and Hsing-min “Baby” Chung.
Chuck regularly tours throughout Asia and abroad playing concerts and
major music festivals. When he’s not traveling, Chuck can be found per-
forming at local jazz and rock clubs around Taipei.
In the recording studio, Chuck’s career also continues to grow, recording,
mixing and mastering music for several artists in Taiwan including Joanna
Wang, Hebe, Kit Chan, music producer Hsing-min“Baby” Chung, Orbit
Folks, Hui Chu Wang and Paige Su as well as several artists from the Unit-
ed States. Chuck also composes and produces music for video, creating
music for several prominent companies in the U.S. including Apache Oil
Corporation, Fund for Teachers and Origin Design.
As an educator, Chuck teaches private lessons and music camps, as well as
teaching drum clinics throughout Taiwan and China.
In addition, Chuck is an endorsing artist for Gioco Drums.
