Inspired by the classic Paul Motian Electric Bebop Band of the 1990s and 2000s, The Electric Bebop Quartet uses modern sounds and approaches to interpret the classic bebop repertoire of the 1940s and 1950s. Two electric guitars bring an exciting new dimension to the traditional Bebop sound by introducing different timbres, sound effects, and modern harmony. The electric bass also adds an updated sound that differs from the traditional acoustic bass, while the choice of drum sounds is also more diverse and dynamic. By taking a fresh modern approach the Electric Bebop Quartet brings new life to the classic songs and arrangements of the roaring bebop era.
